Description

This training facilitates administrative training for Kofax Power PDF Advanced. It is an introduction to the product, installation, licensing, configuration, and troubleshooting. Also covered are the new and enhanced features available with the version 5.0 release. The training is delivered using presentation materials and demonstrations.

Objectives

After completing the curriculum, the learner will be able to:

• Describe the various methods for enterprise-level deployment
• Perform a network deployment
• Customize the Power PDF software package using the Power PDF Customization Kit
• Create Group Policies for use in global-centric enterprise deployments
• Install and configure the Kofax License Server

Prerequisites: No previous Power PDF knowledge is required, but prior software administration experience, plus experience navigating Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems, knowledge of protocols, and other IT-related topics are strongly recommended.

Welcome to this training update in which you will learn how to configure and manage cloud licensing for Power PDF 5.1.

This technical enablement training introduces end users and administrators to the new features and enhancements in Power PDF 2025.3 for Windows. Through short, focused lessons and interactive examples, learners will gain the knowledge and confidence to enable customers on the latest version of Power PDF and support its deployment in their environment.

The course covers key updates across performance, accessibility, cloud integration, and usability — including the new Cloud Editor, Microsoft Teams App, modern SharePoint Connector, and security improvements. Learners will see what’s new, understand why each change matters, and learn how to apply these updates to enhance productivity and compliance.

• Identify the major new features in Power PDF 2025.3.
• Explain the licensing and access requirements for the Cloud Editor and Copilot.
• Demonstrate how to open, edit, and collaborate on PDFs using the Microsoft Teams App.
• Describe the 64-bit and ARM platform updates and the full Tungsten rebrand.
• Apply new accessibility features to create and validate compliant documents.
• Utilize the updated SharePoint Connector and usability improvements for daily workflows.
• Recognize the new Sparkle Updater and OpenSSL enhancements for improved security.

Learning Prerequisites:  Learners should have a basic familiarity with Power PDF  understanding of common PDF tasks such as opening files, adding comments, editing text, and navigating the interface.

Skill Exam: Learners can earn a skill badge by passing the skill exam with a score of 80% or greater.

Objectives

After completing the curriculum, the learner will be able to:

• Describe the various methods for enterprise-level deployment
• Perform a network deployment
• Customize the Power PDF software package using the Power PDF Customization Kit
• Perform configuration of Power PDF's collaboration functions in preparation for network deployment
• Create Group Policies for use in global-centric enterprise deployments
• Recognize typical privacy and security concerns, and how they can be addressed or enhanced through the configuration from the customization kit or through group policy administration
• Create three basic deployment profiles of Power PDF:
  • Knowledge Worker (with core Power PDF functionality, and some features limited based on a typical enterprise profile)
  • Super User (who may have more power and flexibility in how the product is used)
  • Task Worker (who needs a PDF reader only)
• Identify how to utilize Kofax Support
• Direct learners to important resources including additional Power PDF training resources
